With several competitors and fake Rubik’s cubes in the public domain, alongside Rubik’s inconsistent brand messaging and style, the Original Rubik’s Cube was getting lost. It needed SDM’s help to make it stand out from the crowd.
Along with creating updated and consistent brand guidelines, the new Rubik’s Brand style was born. Using dynamic edges and bringing back the core Rubik’s colours, we created three poster ideas. The poster campaigns and updated brand style were developed alongside online research and focus groups, looking into Rubik’s core market and the messages that resonate with this audience.
