The challenge

The social responsibility news was previously only aimed at adults. We wanted to bring this important message to the children, showcasing how LEGO also cares for the environment. The challenge was to get this message across in a child-friendly way.

Our solution

We created ‘Planet Crew’, a fun theme to umbrella the social responsibility news under, where children became part of the Crew by engaging in activities. We explained wind power in a simple interactive tutorial and encouraged children to participate in their own planet promises, like turning off lights when not in rooms and running shallower baths. We engaged the children by using Batman as our ambassador and creating a short video where he explains that the world is ‘nearly’ as important as he is.
